Our Story
It all starts with the
IBG Phonic Programme
The I.B.G. Phonic Programme is an educational product developed in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago by MRS. OLIVE REYES-CLARKE, B.A. The I.B.G. Phonic Programme was developed specifically to prevent and eradicate the problem of illiteracy, locally, regionally and internationally in English speaking countries and to help teach English as a second language to others. Additionally, the Programme is designed to develop critical thinking skills in students and to dramatically increase their attention span.

Mrs. Clarke was a public school teacher for 22 years. During her teaching career Mrs. Clarke taught at both the primary and secondary schools. There she observed that at both levels there was a need for programs to stimulate literacy skills in younger children and to eradicate illiteracy among older students and adults. In 1986 Mrs. Clarke attended a workshop on Reading organized by the Ministry of Education of the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, where the various methods of the teaching of reading were studied. Mrs. Clarke, in her quest for excellence and top performance from every student, embarked upon formulating programs for the easy acquisition of literacy and numerical skills.
The I.B.G. Phonic Programme was tested on random samples of children from various classes at Primary Schools where Mrs. Clarke was posted. It was observed that all the students who used the I.B.G. Phonic Programme were more advanced than their
peers who were not exposed to the programme. The programme has been reproduced commercially since 1995 and sold to customers globally with great satisfaction.
